Smeaton's Sunset
An evocative print of Plymouth’s famous landmark, Smeaton’s Tower, a redundant lighthouse, now a memorial to civil engineer John Smeaton. The lighthouse originally stood on the Eddystone reef in 1759, but was taken down in the early 1880s when it was discovered that the sea was undermining the rock it was standing on. Approximately two thirds of the structure was moved stone by stone to its current location on the Hoe. A limited edition of 6 photopolymer photogravure prints on Fabriano Rosasprina, 220 gsm in black Charbonnel ink. Paper size 25cm x 31cm.
